Hello friends today we are going to see about site effects of plastic water bottles & which are good and bad plastics.
Plastic forms an integral part of our life. so we cannot avoid plastic but these days we use plastic in the form of storing water, mineral water & juices we are getting from plastic bottles and also we have reusable plastic bottles and also we have plastic containers & reusable plastic container which are one time use we get from restaurants as a parcel food so the main question here is are these plastics safe? or these plastics carcinogenic can we use it safely? that is the main question i will answer this question clearly in this article using the recycle number for the plastics.
Pet Bottles:
Reusable Plastic Bottles:
So BPA is proven to be a very bad chemical for our body and bottles made up of polycarbonate contains bpa remember that so it is not safe to use see the recycle number for polycarbonate bottles is 7. so the recycle number 3 and 7 should not be used instead there is another type of bottle this is actually a tupperware bottle.
This tupperware and many other types of hard plastics they come with a different make which is BPA free and it is made up of three chemicals high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene and polypropylene the recycle number for polyethylene is two and four, the recycle number for polypropylene is five.
So the plastics with recycle number two, four or five that is polyethylene or polypropylene it doesn't have carcinogenic potential it is safe but it is very costly this is actually a tupperware bottle. which is claimed to be made up of high density polyethylene and low density polyethylene so it is supposed to be safe of course i am not marketing for this product there are many other products in the market same like this you can buy any variety but it should be BPA free and it should have a recycle number of two, four or five.
Plastic Food Boxes:
Food storage boxes:
Then what about these food storage boxes now we should if there is a catch here even the same tupperware or any other company who claim to be BPA free or sometimes use polycarbonate so you can ask the company directly or you can see the product label and then you decide which way whether to use this box or not because microwave safe or oven safe that is not at all correct the thing is it can have it might have polycarbonate plastic with a recycle number of seven.
So you have to be careful that i cannot guarantee because there are many products so many products in the market i cannot guarantee you have to check yourself whether the recycle number of the plastic used is 2,4 or 5 or it is 3 or 7 so that you have to decide.
My Recommendation:
Ultimately my recommendation is very simple all these fed bottles you can use for one time you can dispose it off the recyclable bottle it should be bpa free and it should not be made up of polycarbonate it should be made up of polyethylene or polypropylene and there is a catch here even these plastic bottles can contain even a per liter even these bottles can contain about 10 000 micro plastics in one letter. microplastic means particle size of less than 5 millimeter plastics will be there inside the water. which may not be visible to the naked eye sometimes so there is a possibility even in the highest quality water bottles we can see.
So you cannot actually avoid plastic all together and we cannot guarantee that it is fully safe even with this bottle so remember that always it is better to use a stainless steel bottle what about storing the water in the jug no that also i won't advise because it is not bpa free it is made up of polycarbonate definitely i won't recommend so i hope this article on plastics is useful for you.
Remember the recycle number two, four or five and forget the recycle number three and seven.
